Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights. It symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”.
During the holidays people light lamps to decorate their homes in the evening, lighting up the darkness to welcome guests into their homes.
Diwali is celebrated by cooking up a feast and sharing a special meal with family and friends dressed in their new clothes.
To mark this happy occasion In Anita’s Kitchen hosted 2 events in 2024 due to popular demand. The venue was once again at the village hall in beautiful Kirtlington, where fairy lights twinkled, tables glowed in candlelight and the aroma of the celebration Indian menu filled the air.
The evening began with guests enjoying a glass of Prosecco whilst listening to Renu Chopra singing popular Bollywood songs. Once the delicious 3 course meal was finished, Dancebeats a trio of Bollywood dancers from London once again entertained the guests with their energetic and rhythmic routines. The enthusiasm of the dancers and the lively music was infectious and soon guests were eagerly up and dancing following the lively dance routines!
The evening was filled with so much laughter and fun that when it came to an end, there was disbelief that four hours had passed so quickly!
